“Go Berlin!” Dec. 11th, @Dongjen Book Club

Berlin, the dream place of LGBT people around the world, is the heaven for free movie creation and sharing.  The Berlin International Film Festival, as one of the three major European film festivals, was the first to set up an award for LGBT topic movies, the Teddy Awards, whose laureates include Almodovar, Stanley Kwan and Zero Chow.  An old friend of Dongjen, Yang Yang has been selected as a jury member for the Teddy Awards of the coming Berlin International Film Festival to represent Chinese LGBT filmmakers.  Go West! Go Berlin!

Go Berlin!  However…  the limited film festival budget doesn’t cover Yang Yang’s flight tickets.  Dongjen Book Club decides, at the time of its reopening, to collect kindness from you, me, him and her, to celebrate this honor and to make our own contribution.  In the afternoon of December 11^th, we will gather together, watch movies, chat, play games.  Free food and beverages will be provided, gifts will be in large supply and there will be a surprise lottery.

由中国人口福利基金会、北京纪安德咨询中心和中国艾滋病病毒携带者联盟三家机构联合发起的“爱滋徒步——为爱走长城2012”公益项目在12月1日正式启动。 此项目同时得到了爱之方舟，全国艾滋病信息资源网络和洛杉矶艾滋骑行的支持。

生命是一段旅程，以生命的名义我们去徒步行走，在行走的过程中，我们去感动，号召那些我们遇到的人一起加入这段为了关爱和生命的旅程。此项目希望通过“爱滋徒步” 的方式，广泛发动社会大众参与到为救助受艾滋病影响的人士捐款和筹款动员当中，与此同时利用各种媒体平台开展反歧视的宣传倡导。

目前有全世界一百多个城市每年都举办自己的爱滋徒步。 “爱滋徒步——为爱走长城2012”活动为期一年。参与“爱滋徒步”的徒步者需要在一年的时间内，通过传播走遍“两万五千里长城”的方式把项目理念与思想传播，从而筹得参加徒步的经费，最终与同伴共同完成“艾滋徒步——为爱走长城2012”的活动。所有筹集的善款将全部用于开展针对艾滋病感染者以及患者的医疗援助支持以及反歧视社会倡导。

在这一次“爱滋徒步－为爱走长城”的募款过程中，参与者不仅仅是单纯的助人——开展针对艾滋病感染者以及患者的医疗援助支持以及反歧视社会倡导。同时也能从整个项目活动中获得其他的“收益”，这些收益包括主办方给予的相关培训和奖励、个人筹款中的能力锻炼、长城徒步中结交志同道合者等等， 这些都将成为参与者一生难忘的财富和回忆，让红丝带和助人自助的理念在参与中更加彰显广泛参与和动员。

同时，项目保障资金和过程的公开透明，活动网站有在线捐款和义卖产品在线支付的功能，筹款明细可以在网站上公开查询，定时更新，以让公众可以了解到善款的实际数字和用途，从而对整个活动进行财务监督，同时让捐款人对自己的参与和付出可以得到即时的回馈，从而增强参与感和信任度。

今天是第24个国际艾滋病日，主题为“行动起来——向零艾滋迈进”，也让我们开始“艾滋徒步——为爱走长城“。同时我们也邀请到了一位从事倡导艾滋预防以和反歧视的公开感染者身份的李虎先生成为我们“爱滋徒步－为爱走长城”的领步人。

China AIDS Walk will hold a World AIDS Day Event at the Beijing Vinyl Cafe, during which we will officially launch the China AIDS Walk promotional website: www.chinaaidswalk.org and during which Li Hu, a Chinese activist living with HIV/AIDS, will kick off our promotional campaign.

China AIDS Walk, a large-scale public welfare project jointly organized by the China Population Welfare Foundation, the Beijing Gender Health Education Institute and the China Alliance of People Living with HIV/AIDS, starts its promotional campaign on 1 December 2011.  China AIDS Walk receives the support of a multitude of social organizations working on HIV/AIDS issues.

China AIDS Walk encourages every member of society to step up and take part in spreading awareness & understanding about HIV/AIDS and helping out those affected by HIV/AIDS.  Everybody is invited to participate in an epic one-day hiking event on the Great Wall and an all-out fundraising drive preceding the hike.  The funds raised will benefit people living with HIV/AIDS & anti-discrimination initiatives all over China.

Throughout the fundraising drive and the hiking event, we will guide participants in reaching out to their family, friends and colleagues with accurate information about HIV/AIDS and the supported projects.  We trust that their energetic contributions will  result in a snowballing awareness campaign which will benefit ever-increasing numbers of Chinese (and foreign) people.

China AIDS Walk participants are not only helping others – they also help themselves.  The participants will gain personal fundraising skills, which will be sharpened by trainings & awards organized by China AIDS Walk.  Moreover, they will be able to connect with scores of like-minded people along their China AIDS Walk path, and gain a wealth of memories and positive experiences.

China AIDS Walk will provide an online fundraising mechanism which allows all participants to supervise the funds they raised and to monitor the funds allocation.  This both enhances the participatory nature of the event and ensures its trustworthy nature.

China AIDS Walk is an annual event, which will take its participants all over the Great Wall.  We start in 2012 in Beijing, hoping to make our way across the country during the coming years and to gain support along the way.

Today, on 1 December 2011, the 24^th World AIDS Day calls out to each and every one of us to do our part in the battle against HIV/AIDS.  So let’s start walking!

“彩虹虫”庆祝中国同志文化

北京同志文化找到了一个新场所！因为期待和北京同志中心结为长期合作伙伴，老书虫将举办一个名为“彩虹虫”的活动。在这个活动中大家将就中国同志文化进行友好的交流和讨论。

做为活动的序幕，老书虫将放映“同志亦凡人”拍摄的50分钟纪录片《生来同志》。这部片子富有争议，令人眼界大开。它主要讲述那些宣称能把同性恋“掰直”的中国医生。此外，特别为回报观众，本部纪录片的导演魏建刚将亲临放映现场，介绍片子的拍摄情况，并回答观众提问。

关于魏建刚：

魏建刚曾先后在位于乌鲁木齐的新疆艺术学院和上海戏剧学院学习表演。因为对社区工作抱有强烈热情，想为社会进步做一些事情，他一直在尝试通过各种方式和朋友一同将他的戏剧才能运用到社会活动中。

近年来他开始制作很多电影。其电影作品及其它一些作品为中国的社会运动贡献了一份力量。他近期的工作成果包括和同事联合制作的《在中国看夕阳》（纪录片），以及制作同志网络视频节目“同志亦凡人”。到现在为止由他导演和主持的“同志亦凡人”已经制作了45集（每集半小时）。

Wednesday 14^th December 2011: Film screening at The Bookworm

“Rainbow-Worm” to celebrate Chinese LGBT culture

LGBT culture in Beijing just found a new venue!  In what we hope will become a steady partnership with the LGBT Centre, The Bookworm will play host to “Rainbow-worm”, an evening of cultural exchange and friendly discussion on queer issues in China.

To raise the curtain on this event, The Bookworm will screen Queer Comrades’ controversial and eye-opening 50-minute documentary, “Cures That Kill”, on Chinese doctors who offer treatments that they claim can “straighten” out gay people.  As a special treat for the audience, the director, Xiaogang Wei, will himself be present at the screening to introduce the film, talk about its genesis, and answer your questions.

So, come to the Bookworm, if you are looking for an opportunity to:

About the speaker:

Xiaogang Wei was trained as an actor at the drama department of the Xinjiang Arts Institute in Urumqi and at the Shanghai Drama Academy. Having a passion for community work and a drive to contribute to social change, Xiaogang has continually searched for meaningful ways to share his drama skills with others and to use them in socially relevant ways.

During recent years he has started to engage himself on the production side of various film- and other productions benefiting different social movements in China. His most recent feats include the co-production of “I Want to Grow Old in China” (documentary) and the founding of the LGBT webcast “Queer Comrades”, for which he has hosted and directed more than 45 half-hour episodes.

技术发展日新月异，数码制作已经让纪录片进入千家万户。在同志领域内，纪录影像的传播也为社会大众提供了了解同志，认识性少数人群的窗口。致力于同志影像纪录的“同志亦凡人”认识到培养同志影像人才的重要性，联合“酷儿影像”等多家机构，在“酷儿大学”系列活动中特别开设纪录片培训营，该训练营将遴选八位潜力十足的未来的电影制作者，于2012年3月3－10日在北京举办，让我们拿起摄像机纪录自己社区的故事。

我们将为您提供：

1，七天培训的硬件设备支持，优良师资教学，耐心辅导。

2，训练营结束后的持续跟进、支持。

3，优秀学员、优秀项目将获得“同志亦凡人”支持，获得网络平台推广，以及“中国酷儿影像巡展”等平台的播映。

招募学员要求如下：

1，年满18周岁。

2，本人是性少数身份（同性恋、双性恋、跨性别、无性恋、酷儿等），或为同志权益组织服务一年以上。尊重不同性别、性取向。

3，对同志权益、纪录影像感兴趣，计划或者正在进行的纪录片创作，未来能够持续跟进拍摄同志题材纪录影像。

4，有一定的电脑操作基础（熟练使用Windows操作系统，掌握Office等办公软件）。

以下情况优先考虑参与训练营：

1，来自偏远、贫困地区。

2，跨性别、无性恋者。

3，有一定的影像工作经验者。
