For folks who live in the city, travel has become increasingly important. Facing the pressure of city life, we can lose out on the sights and sounds of nature — when it gets to be too much, what better way to escape than through travel? In a world this big, with tens of thousands of ways to get away, be it via sightseeing or experiencing local cultures, traveling is a great way to relax and leave worldly worries behind. The queer community seems have a penchant for travel, and in addition to hitting up traditional travel destinations, the queer travel scene seems particularly social. There almost seems to be a pink traveler’s agenda: to see where the local queers hang out, to locate the best queer bars, and of course, to find a chance to hook up with a good looking guy or gal interested in some fun. In this episode of Queer as Folk Beijing, we’re heading to Sydney, Australia to join frequent traveler Zhang Liang and hear his thoughts on being a pink traveler.
